Following the 2011 Fukushima nuclear reactor explosions in Japan, Southern Californian’s successfully organized to permanently close the long-troubled San Onofre plant in June 2013 and continued working to insure tons of lethal radioactive waste are stored safely for thousands of years.
Documenting this critical, little-known struggle, SHUTDOWN will inform and inspire others faced with aging reactors in their communities, and challenge those now advocating a new generation of nuclear power plants.
We’re in the editing studio now, but to complete this documentary and insure it is seen as widely as possible, WE NEED YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT. As with other successful mass movements, permanent historical changes only happen when large numbers of people like you realize their involvement is essential to the cause.
